Mike Thornton

Founder, PBSF, WISA/WIP-C

Mike Thornton has had extensive education and experience in the human services and business industries. Mike attended Mary Washington College (now University) and received undergraduate degrees in both Psychology and Business Administration. Mike then went on to graduate school at George Mason University studying Special Education. Mike is also credentialed in Positive Behavior Supports (PBSF) and benefits analysis and counseling (WISA/WIP-C). Mike's 20+ years of work experience in related fields is vast including teaching, counseling for adolescents, employment support, behavior support and benefits analysis. Mike has also served in other business-related roles and has done strategic business development, root cause analyses and public speaking/training for multiple disciplines. Mike is a lifetime learner and dedicates his time to helping other people. Mike founded People First Services in 2022 as a vehicle to serve more people. Outside of work, Mike spends most of his free time with his wife, daughter and small (chipmunk size) dogs and enjoys riding motorcycles, snowboarding and otherwise being outside.
